Roussillon

2013
côtes du roussillon villages

The vineyard of Roussillon was spared by a less capricious weather than throughout France.
After a cold winter followed a drier spring than in other regions, resulting in a late start of the vegetation.

In June, flowering was difficult, causing a lot of coulure, especially on Grenache like the rest of the southern vineyards.

The summer was as usual, warm and dry but not scorching. The Tramontane blew wisely during summer and helped to cleanse the vineyards, providing optimal conditions for a gradual ripening of the grapes.

The cool nights and mild days of September and October have continued the cycle. The grapes were thus able to improve their ripeness for a late harvest, old vineyard of Carignan and Mourvèdre particularly well expressed in this context.
