Press Review - Bandol Rouge
92/100 – Cellar Selection
90/100 Dark and inviting, with a tightly coiled core of warm mulled anise, plum and blackberry notes and a frame of singed alder ans mesquite accents. The broad, solid finish reveals a pleasant leathery echo. Best from 2017 through 2022.
92/100 Dark and vinous, with a big core of warmed red and black currant confiture, laced with alder, bay and tobacco details, backed by a loamy echo through the finish. Despite the surfeit of bass notes, the fruit sings purely all the way through. Best from 2017 through 2024. Tasted twice, with consistent notes.. –JM

90/100 Dark and brooding, with solid grip imparted by a licorice root coating that wraps the steeped plum, blackberry and bitter cherry fruit. Alder, savory and camphor notes line the finish, with a sanguine hint. Needs to stretch out in the cellar. Best from 2016 through 2025. JM
Winning Wines For A Labor Day Party Bandol is home to the best reds of Provence, and Gregory Hecht and François Bannier, newcomers to the region, have hit the ground running with this polished, fruit-filled delight. Perfect with any meats off the grill, along with more robust cheeses, including chèvre.
90/100 The 2011 Bandol is an outstanding effort that gives up ripe black fruits, ground pepper, earth and leather nuances to go with a structured, savory, medium-bodied feel on the palate. Give it another year and enjoy it through 2021. This was a superb lineup from Gregory Hecht and Francois Bannier. The wines show distinctive […]
90/100 Well-sculpted, with intense notes of hot stone and mineral to the flavors of raspberry tart, pomegranate, spiced cherry and roasted walnut. Black olive and dark chocolate fill the powerfully tannic finish. Drink now through 2018.
