Provence

2015

2015 seems to be a promising vintage.

Clay soils built water reserves that will be essential for grapes ripeness at the end of the plant cycle, thanks to a winter and spring particularly rainy.

Blossoming arrived at the right time in May, during a warm and dry period. Mid-June timely rainfalls recharged the soils as after there were no more significant rain until harvest.

The summer was warm and dry, boosting a beautiful and regular grape ripeness; the vines tapping into water reserves. Very good weather conditions led to early harvest, late August. The quality was there and enough volume.

In Bandol, part of the harvest was delayed because of some rainfalls but the overall health conditions were right.

The vintage was warm: wines are rich, ripe and expressive and winemakers have to focus on keeping acidity so that wines preserve freshness.

Rosé wines are probably a little more opulent than in 2014 but above all very elegant, complex and refine. Mourvedre from Bandol are also looking good.
