Sporting a deep ruby/purple color, the roughly 300-case 2013 Faugeres has a sensational bouquet of cassis, crushed violets and liquid rocks. Medium to full-bodied, elegant and impeccably balanced, it has a seamless texture, no hard edges and a clean finish. Made from 50% Syrah, 20% Mourvèdre, 20% Grenache and 10% Carignan that was aged in demi-muids, it’s one of the finest wines I’ve tasted from this estate. Bravo!
