The perfect conditions for the viticulture because this natural balance only required a superficial human intervention.

Terroir of Languedoc Vineyard

Running from the Spanish border to Provence, backed by the foothills of the Cévennes, this large amphitheatre facing the Mediterranean sea benefits from a magnificent variety of soils and subsoils. Marl molasses to the west, limestone scree of scrubland, schist in the center, clay, sandy soils on the coast, sandstone and pebbles brought by the rivers and streams, granite terraces,etc. So many assets which give to the Languedoc land the characteristics of each appellation and a very wide range of wines.
For over twenty years now, the revolution has been on its way. The vine has returned to the hills and the foothills. Along with wheat fields and olive trees, it shapes our region and its Mediterranean identity.

Climatology facts 

Taking advantages of both Mistral and Tramontana, also the mild maritime air inlet and the neighboring cool mountains, Languedoc benefits from an unequaled amount of sunshine which favors an exemplary qualitative regularity from one vintage to the next. The Mediterranean climate is characterized by a hot and dry season, shaded by the relief impact. Autumn and spring are mild, winter is sunny and the temperature in the high altitude areas drops below 0°C. Rainfall is amongst the lowest in France for some villages; the Tramontana dries vines and prevents diseases. It is an ideal climate for growing vines as part of sustainable agriculture. In the extreme west of the territory, the climate is transitional; the Mediterranean harshness is loosened and combined with the Atlantic mildness.

Organic viticulture 

It follows very precise specifications which ensure that farming practices are environmentally friendly implemented: weeding by tillage, mineral preparations (Bordeaux mixture), organic manures, etc. This commitment encourages the growing of species and varieties cultivation adapted to a particular climate. The Greeks did not deceive themselves when they found, in Languedoc, the perfect conditions for viticulture only required a superficial human intervention. Pioneer and now leader of this cultivation trend, the area produces 30% of the volume of the Organic Farming certified French wine.


In order to express the region’ vast variety of terroirs, we have developed a fruit driven wine, matured exclusively in concrete tank, without any use of barrels. Made according to the principles of Organic Farming, we wanted to express through this wine our commitment and our partner growers’ one around this charter. Our Languedoc is blended by the most brilliant fruits of Syrah, from the area of Saint Chinian and the Terrasses du Larzac, with the tasty Grenache from Roussillon.
