Very dark crimson. Warm and comfortably rich on the palate. Very sweet, spicy start and lots of luscious, expansive fruit . Fairly dry tannins on the end but there is enough fruit to mitigate them. And this is a lively wine, not overcome by its alcohol level – very long and a genuine expression of Roussillon sunshine. The admirably informative back labels (well, the bits in French anyway) tell me it spent 24 months in demi muids – although so, it would seem, did all their 2007 reds. Perhaps ageing more acutely tailored to individual cuvees would be an even better idea? Drink 2011-2016
